First Results (english)

And another month flies by – but this time there is HEAPS to tell and slowly results can be seen. What you are probably looking forward to the most is my flight date to Germany:

Touch down in Munich: 3rd of December 2013 at 10:15am :D JIPEEEEEE!!!

I´m SOOO looking forward to beeing back in Germany and seeing you guy´s, of course. For how long? Later more.

This month wasn´t less emotional then the last one! The rollercoaster ride continues but otherwise it would be boring, wouldn´t it? ;) Well, read for yourself:

// DAY 563 – 592

// CAFÉ

Tenille quit and therefore I´m back in the café 5 days a week, which is good as I need every cent for Europe. We have two new girls from Japan and Spain whom I´m training (for the time I won´t be there). They both can´t do coffee´s yet and so I spent most of the day behind the machine and I´m really enjoying it – it´s so much fun! :D I´ve attached a few more pictures from my Latte-art. It gets better and better and everyone loves my coffee which makes me very happy :) Now I try to get a certificate and then I can name myself a trained Barista. Doesn´t hurt ;)

// TENNIS

I quit the tennis lessons. I don´t wanna go into detail but it just didn´t work between the coach and myself. Therefore I´m free on the weekends again. I play a bit more myself again with Ed and his Friend Javier. It´s great fun as we get a lot of curious stares: Spain – Mexico – Germany :D

// DESIGN

As well here is something happening. Adam met the boss and founder of SEDUCE on one of his jobs and told him that I´m searching for a job. We´ll see what happens.

Beside that I got another interview invitation to Sydney – with an Agency. Unfortunately we were talking past each other and it went quite wrong as I thought it is in Melbourne. Well, I found out in time and we´ll stay in contact.

// ADAM´S JOBS

Adam still has 2 jobs and another one coming up. It´s funny – everything is always happening at the same time. It seems he made the right contacts now. It looks like WIT (the teacher position) would continue working with him. Therefore he can only come to Germany from mid of December onwards (2 weeks later then me).

// SPRING

The last 4 weeks the weather in Melbourne was crazy. We had winds like in Wellington and the temperatures varied a lot. It can be really cold in the mornings again while it can be up to 22 degrees during the day. But then this wind… we could not even put our chairs out at the Café – they just got blown away.

The Melbournians were right in the end! We both caught a cold, of course, just like it is in spring :) Well, this hopefully prepares us for the winter in the northern hemisphere ;)

// SPARETIME

Because of the weather and Adam´s 7 days a week jobs there was not much we could do this month. We have been to the cinema, I caught up with Zoe twice, who is in India for the next 4 weeks, and the AFL (Australian Footy League) final was happening. The hype for this sport is comparable with Football in Germany. EVERYONE chooses a team (mine is Richmond btw, as it has similar colours then Germany, I lived there 1^st in 2006 when I visited Kristl and they are not too popular :D) and if you are not watching the final at a BBQ, in a pub or somewhere else you are not up-to-date. Therefore, on a Saturday afternoon, I made my way to Bron´s, sat in front of the TV, killed a bottle of wine and learnt a few rules of that game. I can see why it is popular here: it’s fast, eventful and a lot of testosterones is on the field ;) But now sit down: Adam and I went out after the game. We treated us with Burgers and a few rum and coke – but man did we feel old! And yes, as I´m talking about it, we only managed 2 pubs and were back home by 10pm – but I think the thought counts ;)

We as well found our way to the Hot Springs again – this time in a Honda – and on a Friday afternoon (when we both finished earlier) we even managed to FINALLY go to a beach again :D

We also enjoyed a play at the “La Mama” theatre. This is a small theatre which was founded by the wife of Tim Burstall (one of Adam´s family) here in Australia. Unfortunately Betty has died at the beginning of the year and we couldn´t meet her. We tried getting in contact with her and her kids but she was already in hospital at that time, not able to recognise anyone anymore. Therefore we decided to at least watch a play (“Two Mortals”). It was my first experience with this kind of theatre but I was quite impressed and found the whole thing pretty intense. We found out that it is still ran like she used to do it and that the artist comes first and gets 80% of the earnings! Great :D

// 3,2,1...

Last time I told you about our 1 year anniversary. The weekend after Sydney we finally celebrated it. We went to “The Cuckoo” Restaurant for dinner which is about 50 minutes outside of Melbourne. It´s decorated in the Bavarian Chalet style and has entertainment, music, dirndl and leather pants as well as some traditional food. Unfortunately it was a bit dark to take good pictures but here is the link in case you wanna have a look:

I was a little confused. You enter there, everyone talks English, it smells like “Sauerkraut” and the band plays “A Prosit” while everyone holds up their “Maß” :D It was a great experience even if I was a bit disappointed by the food. But we are in Australia and more traditional food would probably be too much for the guests. Well, I finally had some “Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte”, “Bienenstich”, “Sauerkraut” and “Kohlkrapfen”. Unfortunately no “Kässpatzen”, “Brezen”, “Schupfnudeln” or “Schäufele” to be seen – BUT there was german beer :) Beside that it was very entertaining with the band. They got people up on stage to jodel, did the slap dance, sang, danced, played the “Glockenspiel”, chopped wook and and and… well funny! Adam enjoyed it as well but was really tired from his week. That´s why I was wondering when he suggested to go to the beach at 10pm… but ok. As we arrived there it got weirder and he desperately was searching for a quiet place where no one else was around. He seemed nervous and before I kept thinking he proposed to me! Yes, you´ve read it right :) I´m engaged!

After that we were both wide awake and happy :) and Adam was quite reliefed that I said “yes” hehe ;) Well, that´s how fast it can happen. We had to adjust the ring (picture is attached) and the following 2 weeks I was pretty busy with calling Germany. So now we also have a wedding to plan and sorting my visa out – which appears to be very complicated and painful, of course! That´s why I couldn´t book a flight back to Australia yet. I´ve planned 6 weeks in Europe but it all depends on how the process goes. You see – it stays interesting, complicated and nerve robbing!

Well, the two of us are really looking forward to home, the future and you! :)

First Results

Und wieder geht ein weiterer Monat ins Land – aber diesmal gibt es EINIGES zu berichten und langsam lassen sich Resultate sehen. Auf was ihr wohl schon am meisten gespannt seit ist mein Datum für den Flug nach Deutschland:

3.12.2013 um 10:15 Morgens lande ich in München :D JIPEEEEEE!!!

Ich freue mich wirklich schon RIESIG auf Deutschland und euch natürlich. Für wie lange? Dazu komme ich später.

Dieser Monat ist nicht weniger emotional als der letzte! Es geht weiter in der Achterbahn aber sonst wärs ja schließlich auch langweilig oder? ;) Naja, lest selbst:

// TAG 563 – 592

// CAFÉ

Tenille hat gekündigt und somit bin ich wieder 5 Tage die Woche im Café was gut ist, da ich jeden Cent für Europa brauchen kann. Wir haben 2 neue Mädels aus Japan und Spanien die ich anlerne (für die Zeit in der ich nicht da bin). Kaffee machen können sie beide noch nicht und so bin ich fast den ganzen Tag hinter der Maschine und genieße es richtig – macht wirklich einen Heidenspaß! :D Ich hab euch weitere Bilder von meiner „Latte-Art“ drangehängt. Die wird immer besser und alle lieben meinen Kaffee, was mich tierisch freut :) Jetzt versuche ich ein Zertifikat zu bekommen und dann bin ich eine trainierte Barista. Kann ja nicht schaden ;)

// TENNIS

Die Tennisstunden haben sich erledigt. Ich will gar nicht näher ins Detail gehen aber das mit dem Trainer und mir hat einfach nicht funktioniert und somit bin ich an den Wochenenden wieder frei. Ich spiele selbst wieder etwas mit Ed und seinem Freund Javier. Macht wahnsinnig Spaß und wir bekommen doch viele neugierige Blicke: Spanien – Mexiko – Deutschland :D

// DESIGN

Hier tut sich auch immer mal wieder was. Adam hat bei einem seiner Jobs den Besitzer und Gründer von SEDUCE kennengelernt und ihm erzählt dass ich einen Job suche. Mal sehen was dabei rauskommt.

Außerdem hatte ich wieder eine Einladung zum Vorstellungsgespräch in Sydney – mit einer Agentur. Das ging leider etwas schief da wir aneinander vorbeigeredet hatten und ich dachte es sei in Melbourne. Ich habs noch rechtzeitig gemerkt und so bleiben wir in Kontakt.

// ADAM´S JOBS

Adam hat immer noch 2 Jobs und den Auftrag für einen dritten. Ist schon witzig – es passiert doch immer alles auf einmal. Es scheint als hätte er endlich die richtigen Kontakte. So wie es aussieht würde ihn WIT (Lehrerstelle) auch übernehmen. Daher kann er aber erst Mitte Dezember nach Deutschland kommen (also 2 Wochen später als ich).

// FRÜHLING

Die letzten 4 Wochen hat das Wetter in Melbourne verrückt gespielt. Wir haben Wind wie in Wellington und die Temperaturen schwanken auch erheblich. Morgens kann es wieder richtig kalt sein während es unter Tags dann bis zu 22 Grad hat. Leider ist da aber dieser Wind... wir können nicht mal unsere Stühle im Café rausstellen – die werden einfach weggeblasen.

Die Melbournier hatten also recht! Wir haben uns natürlich gleich mal eine Erkältung eingefangen, wie das eben im Frühjahr so ist :) Naja, das härtet uns hoffentlich schon mal für den Winter auf der Nordhalbkugel ab ;)

// FREIZEIT

Wegen des Wetters und weil Adam 7 Tage die Woche arbeitet konnten wir diesen Monat nicht soviel machen. Wir waren im Kino, ich hab mich 2x mit Zoe getroffen, die jetzt für 4 Wochen in Indien ist, und das AFL (Australian Footy League) Finale stand an. Der Hype um diese Sportart ist mit Fußball in Deutschland zu vergleichen. JEDER wählt ein Team (meines ist Richmond, nur so am Rande, weil es ähnliche Farben wie Deutschland hat, ich dort 2006 zuerst gewohnt habe als ich nach Melbourne kam um Kristl zu besuchen und weil sie ein bisschen Außenseiter sind :D) und wenn du das Finale nicht bei einem BBQ, in einer Bar oder sonst wo anschaust kannst du einfach nicht mitreden. Daher hab ich mich Samstag Nachmittag mit Bron vor den Fernseher gesetzt, eine Flasche Wein vernichtet und ein paar Regeln des Spiels gelernt. Ich kann verstehen das es beliebt ist: schnell, ereignisreich und ebenfalls viel Testosteron ;) Doch jetzt haltet euch fest: Adam und ich sind abends nach dem Spiel ausgegangen. Wir haben uns Burger und ein paar Rum mit Cola gegönnt – und man haben wir uns alt gefühlt! Und ja, weil ich gerade davon spreche, wir haben nur 2 Bars geschafft und waren um 10 wieder zu Hause - aber ich finde der Wille zählt ;)

Den Hot Springs haben wir auch wieder einen Besuch abgestattet – diesmal mit einem Honda – und an einem Freitag Nachmittag (als wir beide etwas früher Schluss gemacht hatten) waren wir doch auch ENDLICH mal wieder am Strand :D

Wir haben ebenfalls eine tolle Vorstellung im „La Mama“ Theater genossen. Dies ist ein kleines Theater dass die Frau von Tim Burstall (einem von Adam´s Verwandten) hier in Australien gegründet hat. Leider ist Betty Anfang diesen Jahres verstorben und wir konnten sie nicht mehr treffen. Wir hatten noch versucht mit ihr und ihren Kindern Kontakt aufzunehmen aber zu dieser Zeit war sie schon im Krankenhaus und hat niemanden mehr erkannt. Daher haben wir uns entschlossen uns wenigstens ein Stück („Two Mortals“) anzuschauen. Es war meine erste Erfahrung mit Theater dieser Art aber ich war schwer beeindruckt und fand dass das ganze doch ziemlich unter die Haut ging. Wir fanden heraus dass es immer noch so geführt wird wie sie es tat und hier noch der Künstler an Erster Stelle steht und wirklich 80% der Einnahmen bekommt! Großartig :D

// 3,2,1...

Letztes Mal hatte ich euch ja von unserem 1jährigen erzählt. Das Wochenende nach Sydney haben wir dann auch gefeiert. Zum Abendessen gings ins „The Cuckoo“ Restaurant, ca. 50 Minuten außerhalb von Melbourne. Es ist im Bayrischen Chalet Stil eingerichtet und hat von deutscher Unterhaltungsmusik, Dirndl und Lederhosen auch ein paar traditionelle Gerichte. Leider wars etwas dunkel um gute Photos zu machen aber hier ist der Link zur homepage falls es euch interessiert:

Ich war anfangs schon leicht verwirrt. Da kommt man rein, es wird englisch gesprochen, es duftet nach Sauerkraut und die Band spielt „Ein Prosit“ zu dem jeder seinen Maßkrug hochhält :D Es war eine tolle Erfahrung, wenn ich doch vom Essen etwas enttäuscht war. Allerdings sind wir ja in Australien und mehr traditionelle Kost wäre dann wahrscheinlich doch etwas zu viel des Guten. Naja, ich hatte mal wieder Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, Bienenstich, Sauerkraut und Kohlkrapfen. Leider waren weit und breit keine Kässpatzen, Brezen, Schupfnudeln oder Schäufele zu sehen – ABER es gab deutsches Bier :) Es war ebenfalls sehr unterhaltsam mit der Band. Sie haben Leute aus dem Publikum auf die Bühne geholt, gejodelt, geschuhblattelt, gesungen, getanzt, Glockenspiel gespielt, Holz gehackt und und und... echt lustig! Adam hats auch gefallen, er war nur sehr müde von der Arbeitswoche. Daher hab ich mich auch gewundert als er vorgeschlagen hat um 10 Uhr Abends noch an einen Strand zu fahren... aber gut. Dort angekommen wurde es dann doch immer merkwürdiger und er wollte unbedingt ein ruhiges Plätzchen finden an dem niemand anders war. Er erschien mir sehr nervös und bevor ich mich versah hat er um meine Hand angehalten! Ja, ihr habt richtig gelesen :) Ich bin verlobt!

Danach waren wir beide hellwach und happy :) und Adam war erleichtert dass ich „ja“ gesagt hab hehe ;) Tja, so schnell kann’s gehen. Den Ring mussten wir etwas kleiner machen lassen (Bild ist drangehängt) und die folgenden 2 Wochen hab ich erstmal damit verbracht nach Deutschland zu telefonieren. Somit haben wir jetzt auch noch eine Hochzeit zu planen und mein Visa zu beantragen – was sich natürlich als hochkompliziert herausstellt! Daher konnte ich auch noch keinen Flug zurück nach Australien buchen. Ich habe 6 Wochen in Europa geplant aber es kommt alles darauf an wie es bürokratisch läuft. Ihr seht schon – es bleibt spannend, kompliziert und nervenaufreibend!

Wir beide freuen uns aber wie Schnitzel auf daheim, die Zukunft und euch! :)
